Coronavirus and planned travel
If you have plans to travel abroad then we would advise you visit the government website for country specific advice: www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice
You may also wish to check the Association of British Insurers website where they have helpful questions and advice with regard travel insurance and the Coronavirus: www.abi.org.uk/products-and-issues/topics-and-issues/coronavirus-qa/
If you have further questions you should discuss your travel plans with your own insurance company. Your GP will be unable to state that any patient is "unfit to travel" unless they have a new or deteriorating illness which would make them unfit to travel anywhere.
If the insurance company requests it only: The practice may be able to issue a letter stating a patient's specific long-term medical condition(s) but this will be a statement of fact and there will be a private charge for supplying this. Please advise the receptionist that you are needing a statement of fact and please also advise the receptionist of the medical conditions that are relevant.
For proof of Covid-19 vaccination or Certificates of Recovery from Covid then please see: NHS Inform Covid Status/Recovery
